Western New York Area Chiropractor

I didn’t really know about chiropractic…”

….Until I experienced a severe episode of low back pain at the age of 21 which brought sensory changes in my legs as well as muscle weakness in my feet. I had experienced low back pain before, but nothing of this magnitude. Previously, I had tried physical therapy for my low back pain, but with the amount of pain I was experiencing, I could barely walk quickly let alone perform exercises.

My father took me to his chiropractor who reduced my back pain and returned me to playing my senior season of college soccer in a couple months. Even though I was aware now of the effects of chiropractic, I did not consider it as a career choice at the time because I was just one semester away from graduating. That decision came a couple years later after working for Dr. David Wright & Wright Spinal Solutions.

Chiropractic Education

As mentioned previously, my path to becoming a chiropractor was a little more winding than others’. I graduated from Grove City College a semester early with my Bachelor’s in Psychology and began attending Canisius College right away to obtain a dual Master’s in Mental Health and School Counseling. Since I was attending school in the evening, I began working for Dr. Wright as his chiropractic assistant during the day. I assisted patients in their spinal decompression sessions, facilitated treatment documentation and helped out with the tasks at the front desk.

After a year of working for Dr. Wright and seeing the amazing treatments and outcomes his patients received, I was convinced that being a chiropractor was the right choice for me. I applied and was accepted to New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. After almost 3 years of courses focused on anatomy, neurology, pathology, radiology and most importantly, chiropractic technique, I began my internship treating patients in Depew, NY.
For my last semester at school, I was privileged enough to be one of two chiropractic students selected nationwide for an internship at Walter Reed Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD where I treated active duty military members, Wounded Warriors, and Naval Football players.

In addition, I was able to rotate with other medical residents through other specialties such as physical medicine, radiology, & occupational therapy. I also hold an advanced certification in the Activator Method; I am RockDoc, which means I am certified in a method of functional kinesiology taping; and I completed additional coursework in MRI interpretation.

Outside of work, I spend a great deal of time either with my family (all of whom live in the Buffalo area) or working out. I played soccer my entire life, beginning with EMW and Tri-Town soccer and progressing to varsity play at Nardin Academy and Division III play in college.

Now that I am older and realize the risks playing soccer poses to a chiropractor, I have taken up the less dangerous but still physically demanding activity of Crossfit! I have been working out at Crossfit Buffalo for about a year now and I love it. I also enjoy supporting a number of the local races, including Buffalo’s own Turkey Trot & Half Marathon as well as various local 5Ks.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.Thomas Edison

Health = Wellness

I feel the quote above most accurately depicts the gaping error in our “healthcare” system right now. While stereotypical medical care certainly plays a large role in emergency situations, we view our chiropractic model as a more accurate depiction of “healthcare.”

While we understand you have symptoms which cause you a great deal of discomfort and concern, we view the symptoms only as an indicator of what’s going wrong beneath the surface. We seek to truly determine the cause of your symptoms and work cohesively with you and your other healthcare providers to make you a better functioning person with less symptoms overall.

I promise my associate and I will work with you to deliver the best treatment, rehabilitation and support necessary to improve your function and health in your day to day life.

If you are ready to truly experience healthcare, I urge you to give us a call today!
